The Supreme Court has ruled for the Biden administration on the question of the Migrant Protection Protocols, also called Remain in Mexico. In its final opinion of the term on Justice Breyer’s last day, the Court ruled 5-4 that Biden’s recission of the Trump-era policy was valid. Chief Justice Roberts wrote the Court’s opinion, joined by Justices Breyer, Sotomayor, Kagan, and Kavanaugh. Justice Alito dissented, joined by Justices Thomas and Gorsuch, and Justice Barrett also filed a dissent, joined by Justices Thomas, Alito, and Gorsuch. Justice Kavanaugh also filed a concurring opinion.
