As Britain celebrates Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, the nation has risen to the occasion and opted for street parties and pageantry to honor Her Majesty’s 70 years on the throne. The four-day holiday weekend (now in its second day) begins with a thanksgiving ceremony in the beautiful St Paul’s Cathedral.

Prince Charles and Camilla await the beginning of the thanksgiving event in St Paul’s Cathedral. The queen herself will not be attending.
St Paul’s Cathedral, completed in 1710, is one of the most iconic London landmarks and is the go-to location for many state events.
The Sussexes, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attend the thanksgiving service. Notable is that they are taking a backseat position in the festivities as they are no longer “working royals.”
Trafalgar Square is the best spot to see the pageantry for those without the much-coveted insider tickets. For the entire Jubilee, this will Nelson’s Column will serve as an unofficial meeting place and party central.
