As first lady of the United States, Melania Trump could seemingly do nothing right. She was viciously criticized for just about everything she touched. Hollywood celebs mocked her accent, secular progressive media were horrified by her choice of Christmas decorations, and the fashion industry (which she was a part of for years) even nitpicked and disparaged her clothing.
Following her husband’s tumultuous exit from the White House, she was as quiet as a church mouse. When former President Donald Trump spoke to a crowd of supporters at Mar-a-Lago the night he was indicted, Melania was absent. Tongues began to wag with the refrain, “Where is Melania?”
On May 9, Mrs. Trump answered that query in an exclusive interview with Fox News’ Pete Hegseth. “He has my support, and we look forward to restoring hope for the future and leading America with love and strength,” she affirmed. And in her own soft-spoken and dignified way, she doubled down with, “My husband achieved tremendous success in his first administration, and he can lead us toward greatness and prosperity once again.”
Melania Trump Is Ready to Rumble
Mrs. Trump’s willingness to wear the mantle of first lady again was in doubt due to her desire to avoid the spotlight since leaving the White House. The 53-year-old appears to be an intensely private person who doesn’t crave media attention and is comfortable in her own skin. While first lady, she focused on several initiatives designed to lift America’s young people.
Although the leftist press mercilessly derided her, the former fashion model has continued to promote Be Best – a program developed to encourage the positive welfare of young people. Initially, she focused on internet safety and opioid abuse. An outgrowth of that program has led to her latest effort called Fostering the Future, which helps former foster children who have aged out of the system obtain scholarships to attend college. She elaborated on this effort to Fox Digital:
“At the present time, there are more than 400,000 children in the foster care system, and there is less than a 3% chance of former foster children completing their college education. In fact, many end up on the street, homeless. My objective is to reduce the gap and increase access to higher education for those who leave the foster care system.”
Speculation regarding the relationship between Mr. and Mrs. Trump has run wild in the legacy media. The former president was roundly taken to task for not acknowledging his wife’s birthday on social media. Still, an anonymous source told People magazine, “Despite what you hear, the Trumps are a close family.”
Notwithstanding the rumors and incessant criticism, Melania Trump is no shrinking violet, leaving one to wonder if there is a spirit made of steel behind that quiet disposition. As Liberty Nation noted in 2018, “There is and has always been a sense that this first lady is more than just what meets the eye, as pleasing as that may be. In fact, just below the surface of that calm, quiet demeanor appears to be a woman of power and purpose.”
Without a doubt, Mrs. Trump seems to have beauty and brains, which is often a threatening mixture to others. During her time as first lady, Melania Trump managed to quickly and quietly dispatch those who bad-mouthed her. She also won a lawsuit initiated against the Daily Mail for calling her an “escort.” Thus, it may not be much of a surprise to those who know her that she is ready for round two as first lady.
